Choice is Yours

Y'all gon get enough of
choosing trophies like they don't rust.
Like they don't collect dust.
Like beauty doesn't flee
and in charm you can trust.
Y'all gon get enough of
choosing widely
when you need to be choosing wisely.
Planting your seeds in dirt.
Creating more hurt people to hurt.
I said
y'all gon get enough of
running from your own reflection,
too afraid to look in the mirror
frightened of drawing nearer
to the ones that help you to see you
a little more clearer.

#keepgoing

In lieu of World Suicide Prevention Day, I dedicate this piece to those that struggle with this battle. You are NOT alone. National Suicide Prevention Lifeline 800.273.8255

#keepgoing

Never thought I'd pen realer rhymes
of iller times.
But now we're all sick.
At some point
we all wear it,
we all bear it,
a diagnosis
and more than half of us
share it.
Feelings of being defeated,
you wanna beat it
but what's there to do,
when you look in the mirror
and your enemy is staring
back at you?
Frustrated in your own being,
agitated without meaning,
all the while seeming
like everything is okay.
Day after day..
Sad cause you're angry,
angry cause you're mad.
I mean
they say we're all a little crazy.
Mentally a little hazy,
unable to see through the fog.
Bogged down by life,
trying to appear right,
like all of our shit is tight
and together.
Slowly unraveling,
traveling to those dark recesses
we try not discuss.
Plus,
if you're being honest
you wanna blow the match between
the #1 heavyweight contender
and the opposing thespian pretender.
Each in their own corner
Up against the ropes,
with hopes
that they both lose.
Refusing that anyone dare throw in towel,
but it's dripping red.
Besides
no one's there,
these are just thoughts
playing out in your head.
No one can see that you're
internally black and blue,
attacked and through.

How many,
how many times
have you fantasized
about sliding a sharp razor
down your pulsing vein?
To watch it drain
into a bloodbath--
no period.
This is not your end,
it's an and
and I'm talking punctuation.
Leave your mark--
Semicolon;
it starts
when you keep going.
When you realize you're the seed
so you keep growing.
Them voices lose volume
when you choose not to hear it,
when you choose not to fear it.
Life ain't all that bad.
We all weather gloomy days,
and search for new ways to be happy..
You know that's an inside job.
So put in the work and watch it work.
You're never alone,
and if you don't believe me,
just pick up the phone.
I promise
someone is always near,
to lend you and even me
a listening ear. -Infinity
